The shop

Built upstate. Set in Manhattan.

Our shop sits on 40 acres in Ellenville, NY. Steel, stainless, brass and wood come in the front door, and stairs, rails, skins and doors go out the back to New York's theaters, stores and townhouses.

The building

Room to build big

A 50 x 100 ft high bay under a full bridge crane, with 80 ft of open floor. The office sits on a mezzanine with a glass wall and a catwalk that runs the full width of the shop, so the drawings and the floor are never more than a few steps apart.

We unload our own trucks: a yard forklift for bundles and skids up to 6,000 lb and the crane for long stock up to 5,000 lb.

Where we came from

Red Hook to the Hudson Valley

For years Seetin Design worked out of Red Hook, Brooklyn, on Coffey Street. Today the shop is upstate, with the room, the crane and the machines to take a job from flat plate to a finished stair, and our crews still set the work in the city.
